I have wanted to update the blog for a while now and I promise from now on, I will share more news with you all. So lately I have been doing a lot of food photography, which has become one of my favorite things to photograph. To me there is no comparison: the atmosphere, the aromas, the textures and color makes it unbelievably fabulous, and I get to be the witness and take part in documenting all the moments and the great pieces of art from many talented people. Can you top this somehow? Yes!, I guess I did when I was the official photographer for the first Food Fight Edmonton competition that held place at Get Cooking School in Mac Ewan University Campus. Time flew away pretty fast, and the adrenaline was on top pf the whole experience. The crowd was having so much fun, there was a DJ, a lot of food, great friends and “foodie” personalities… I could go on and on about his fight, but I guess it all sums up in this small video I made. I’m happy to be part of the second fight coming soon April 24th!!

A dear uncle of mine gave me a book of stories from Christian Andersen when I was born. The book was in my bedroom all the time since I have memory, and I always enjoyed reading the stories (as tragic as they were for a child specially!) and looking at the surreal water color illustrations the book had. I guess I had always imagined how the little match girl looked, and it was a dream come true to finally visualize what I had in mind for years. Miss Amaryllis modeled for me, her being Dutch and her obsession with the little Match Girl made complete sense, there was almost no need for direction during the session. What a wonderful experience!
We were contacted by a local artist, her name is Karella and she is a singer-song writer and DJ! We met at the steeps house in Stoney plain road, needless to say the service is amazing and the atmosphere very casual and cool. A little nervous at first Karella managed to relax and have a little fun while talking to me about the warmth of the people near the ocean. The result, absolutely gorgeous photos for her album to come. Thanks so much for the opportunity!
